<br>60 x 7 x 10 in.<br>Showing, is only the top half of the fountain. A one inch hole was drilled down the center for the water to travel to the top. Gordon first discovered that Kansas Fence Posts were good for sculpture in Sonoma County before he moved to Ventura around 1999.<br>There are many fossilized sea shells in the stone, like the big brown one in the hair, to the left of the face. Gordon also has sandblasted Dragonflies, Lizards and Frogs on these posts for garden ornamentation.'))

<br>Icon is part of the mask series on ideal beauty (positive and negative). The face was inspired by Marilyn Monroe, who was the Goddess of the twentieth century. Originally the eye and mouth were to be slightly open in a sensual expression, but they were closed in the final version to depict a calm and introspective countenance.The mask or fragmented face represents the external image only and not what lies within. The picture of Icon is seen in front of the Ventura County Government building in California. The sculpture was on loan but may become part of their permanent collection. '))

<br>In Gordon\'s words: When I lived in the Santa Rosa area of California for 24 years I lived very close to Glenn Ellen, where Jack London once lived, and where his Wolf House burned down. My agent at the time had gotten me many commissions doing life-size bronze portraits of local City officials, including Luther Burbank for the City of Santa Rosa. With this success they thought the Jack London Society would purchase a bust of London if I made it, especially since there were no good busts of him that we knew of. On speculation I made the likeness of Jack London in wax. To do this I got a guard at the Jack London home to take the Death Mask of Jack off of a wall and hold it while I photographed different angles of his face. Then from different photographs, especially one of him sitting on his boat in the wind, I constructed his likeness. The Jack London Society did not buy the bust, but a local business man did. We then tried to get the new Jack London Square complex, being built in Okland, to buy one but they just moved an old poorly done cement monument of him that was at another location to represent his image.'))
